The use of large oversize stencils for unusually sizeable projects can work particularly well where the scale of the job is more challenging to work with.

Other projects include the rebranding of ships, directional and information for interior and exterior signage for branding new shopping complex, aircraft signage and safety signs, exhibition signs and stencils for occasions that required major advertising such as national outdoor sporting events like the 2009 Tour of Britain.
Our many years experience of manufacturing stencils for an extensive variety of trades and usages have given us the knowledge to produce stencils, construction stencils and templates in the most suitable materials for the purpose.

Client: Alfred Bagnall & Sons (South
Wales)
Value: Confidential
Laser Cutting Services has recently undertaken and completed a large
commercial stencilling project in conjunction
with Alfred Bagnall & Sons for St David's Shopping Centre. The painting
project required many very large signage and
car park stencils of different sizes that were text, logos or
numbers. The interior signage stencils were applied with spray or roller
onto a pre-painted concrete wall surface. As some signage
stencils were particularly large, they were made in sections
and had registration points to align them when painting. Many of the
stencils had to be specifically scaled
for each area, some of which were several metres
long. Angie Nock from Bagnall's contacted us with the task of
laser cutting a wide range of large signage and carpark stencils for
the development of St David's Shopping Centre, which is now one of the
principal shopping centres in the city centre of Cardiff, capital of
Wales. St David's is also now the eleventh largest shopping centre in
the United Kingdom.

Laser Cutting Services were approached by Scottish
Borders Council and 7 Stanes Mountain Bike Trails, (hosting a stage
of the Tour of Britain) to produce some extra
large stencils that could be painted onto the road surface.
The Scottish stage of the tour was to travel from Peebles down to Gretna
and as part of their advertising campaign
to promote tourism in the area, the images were required
to be big enough to have real
exterior visual impact as they were to be seen from an aerial
view as the event was to be televised.
Some of these very large stencils
were laser cut to a size of over 24 metres long!. These
outdoor stencils were painted using a semi permanent paint.

Laser Cutting Services
were recently commissioned by a London based media company to
help them recreate an a painting for Anchor Butter
to coincide with a massive advertising campaign that would also be featured
on the television nationwide.
The stencilled commercial feature wall mural was 5 x 4 metres and was
made up of a series of stencil sections
and layers to achieve depth and colour.
The laser cut image was painted by two
artists, live through the night in a central location in London on the
end of a well exposed wall.
Laser Cutting Services were approached by Events
Management Company, Chillisauce, to produce Hopscotch
Stencils for their client BUPA, as part of their *Global
Challenge 2011 campaign.
The O2 floor was covered with our stencils
to allow 358 people, including BUPA staff and children from Tower Hamlets
schools to take part in the Guinness Book of World Records attempt;
“largest group of Simultaneous Hopscotchers.”
We produced the hopscotch grid stencils from 350
micron Polyester Film and as the finished stencil was over 3m
high, we had to divide the design into sections. We planned each
section to be flush fitted to allow them to be “butted up”,
thereby easing alignment and registration for the client.
We are delighted to add that the Guinness World Record Attempt was successful; the Bupa group was declared World Record Holders on 06 June 2011.
*Bupa's Global Challenge 2011 campaign aims to get more than 35,000 people around the world moving to reduce the risk of serious illness.
BRUICHLADDICH approached Laser Cutting Services to produce an extra large stencil for their distillery wall signage. Registration points were provided on each section of stencil film to make paint application easily manageable with the final finished stencil measuring over 12 metres long.
We have also produced 'identifying' stencils for both JAMESON and GLENGOYNE for their unique whiskey cask barrels.
Laser Cutting Services were approached by an interior design specialist to produce a large wall feature stencil / paper cut that would be suitable to cover a large area.
The intricate Arabic stencil design required to be a thickness that would help create depth when used with a Venetian polished plaster.
This particular stencil design was made in one large piece made to our maximum cutting area of 970 x 730mm.
Laser Cutting Services were approached by Paintshop Studio to produce stencils for Interior Designer Danielle Proud, Creative Director of the Proud Group.
Proud2, located at the O2, London, was opened in March 2011 and has been receiving accolades ever since.
Laser Cutting Services were approached by Jeremy of Jeremy Hunt Design, London to produce a complex stencil to replicate scales on a life-size model BLUEFIN TUNA installation. The completed model, a life-size adult 9ft long, is to be exhibited in The National Museum of Scotland, in their New Gallery exhibit opening on 29 July 2011.
The 125 film proved best to airbrush
the silver colour through the mask as we had to select a stencil material
that would not absorb the paint and was re-useable. The thin polyester
film allowed Jeremy to spray a low tack adhesive onto the back to hold
the stencil in place while airbrushing his painting. The scale pattern
was laser cut in a large sheet that could then be rolled
on the surface so that it enabled enable Jeremy to reproduce the scales
over a larger area. The paint used was a highly reflective iridescent
acrylic silver paint which was sprayed over the stencil mask. When the
stencil was removed this left the silver scales to superb effect.
Jeremy is delighted with the finished installation of his BLUEFIN TUNA has given us this testimonial endorsing his apprecation of Laser Cutting Services approach to this challenge, technical expertise and professional customer service.
Tamburlaine, a contemporary fashion designer,
working in both Paris and London, recently approached us to produce
some large stencils for a trade fair
in Paris.
The custom logo was required as a
large stencil to spray onto a carpet area using ordinary spray
paint. The logo could also be simplified to
laser cut as a swing tag for garments for
corporate branding.
The artwork supplied for this type of
project can be either PDF or vector. The scale can be changed to suit
your needs.
Laser Cutting Services were approached by DED Associates, an international design agency based in Sheffield to produce some large stencil designs that would form part of an ultra-contemporary exhibition.
A selection of laser cut stencils were produced to almost life size proportion. This collection of large stencils are made in heavy duty polyester film that is flexible, durable and easy to clean.
